Spanish immigration EX forms explained in English: EX-00, EX-01, EX-10, EX-11, EX-15, EX-17, EX-19

Reviewed against the official source: 22.07.2026

In short: every Spanish immigration procedure has an official form with an "EX-" code + number (EX-00, EX-01, EX-10…). This page explains what each of the most-searched EX forms is for, in plain English, and gives the free official download link — no middlemen, no fees.

Important: these forms exist only in Spanish. Spain's Ministry of Inclusion does not publish an official English (or any other language) version of the PDF itself. This page explains, in English, what each form is and what it's for — but you (or a professional/translator helping you) will need to fill it in in Spanish.

The 7 most-searched EX forms:

Form Official name What it's for Free official PDF Detailed guide
EX-00 Authorisation for a long-term stay Higher studies, training or long-term voluntary work Download PDF Student stay in Spain
EX-01 Temporary non-lucrative residence authorisation Living in Spain without working, on your own means (retirees, people of independent means) Download PDF Non-lucrative residence
EX-10 Residence authorisation for exceptional circumstances Arraigo (social, socio-labour, socio-training, family, second-chance) Download PDF Types of arraigo
EX-11 Long-term / long-term-EU residence authorisation Permanent residence after 5 years of legal residence Download PDF Long-term residence
EX-15 NIE and certificates form Applying for the Foreigner Identity Number (NIE) Download PDF How to get the NIE
EX-17 Application for the Foreigner Identity Card Requesting the physical TIE card once a permit is granted Download PDF How to get the TIE
EX-19 EU-citizen family member residence card EU regime: family member of a citizen of another EU/EEA country or Switzerland Download PDF EU family member card

Full official list: the general-forms catalogue currently has 27 active forms (EX-00 through EX-32, excluding the ones that no longer exist — see warning below). See the full list at inclusion.gob.es — modelos generales or the application-forms index.

Warning — form numbers that no longer exist: since the RD 1155/2024 reform took effect (20 May 2025), the codes EX-05, EX-08, EX-12, EX-14, EX-27 and EX-30 were removed or merged into other forms (e.g. the old EX-12 work-authorisation form is now folded into current EX-03). If you find a PDF online using one of these old codes, it's likely outdated — always download from inclusion.gob.es.

In person or by representative? The form itself doesn't require you to appear in person — you (or a representative, such as a gestor or lawyer) can fill it in. What may require your presence is the procedure the form is submitted for (e.g. fingerprinting for the TIE) — check that specific procedure's page or the Mercurio (online filing) guide.

Watch out for third-party websites: these forms are 100% free at inclusion.gob.es. Be wary of sites that charge a fee to "fill in" or "deliver" the same official PDF.
