In short: Honduran passports in Madrid: the consulate suspends issuing from 18 to 20 November 2026 for a scheduled update of the INM system (Honduras' National Migration Institute). The suspension has not started yet.
What changes for you today
Nothing: today passports are handled as usual. Requirements, price and documents, including for under 21s, are in the guide Honduran passport in Madrid. How to book the appointment is in the guide appointment at the Honduras Consulate in Madrid.
What happened
The consulate has put a notice on the homepage of its website and on the minors' passport page: passport issuing is suspended from 18 to 20 November because of a scheduled update of the INM system. The same notice block keeps the closure of 9 November for a Community of Madrid holiday, which we covered in the news Honduras consulate in Madrid closed in November. What is new now is the passport suspension.
How it works now
A passport is handled in person only, with a free appointment booked on the official site. It is normally delivered on the day of the appointment if you bring every requirement. Under 21s go with their mother and father.
What changes
- From 18 to 20 November 2026 the consulate does not issue passports.
- The reason in the notice is a scheduled update of the INM system.
- The notice speaks of passport issuing, not of a closure of the consulate.
What happens next
The suspension runs from 18 to 20 November. The website shows no further notices for after those dates.
What you can do
- If you have a passport appointment from 18 to 20 November, write to [email protected] before going.
- If you do not have an appointment yet, pick a day outside those dates on the consulate's official site.
- If your passport expires soon, remember it can be renewed up to 6 months before expiry, so there is no need to wait until the last moment.
