In short: €2,000,000 more for the Tarifa Cero in Madrid in 2026. Published in the BOCM (the Madrid regional gazette) of 30 October, it is a budget extension, not a new call or a change of requirements. If you are already an autónomo (self-employed) in the Community of Madrid with a reduced contribution, the aid stays available while there is budget.

What changes for you today

Nothing in the requirements or in how to apply. There is more money to pay applications. What the Tarifa Cero covers and how to request it is in the card Grants for autónomos in Madrid 2026. If you have not registered yet, the order of steps is in Becoming an autónomo as a foreigner.

What happened

The Councillor for Economy, Finance and Employment of the Community of Madrid signed an order on 21 October 2026 that declares a €2,000,000 extension of the Tarifa Cero credit for this year. It was published in BOCM no. 261 of 30 October. The money comes entirely from the State: labour funds that the State Public Employment Service (SEPE) distributes to the autonomous communities, and Madrid manages them.

How it works now

The Tarifa Cero is a direct grant: there is no call with a closing date, and it is granted while budget remains. For 2026, €11,000,000 was approved by an order of November 2025, and in July 2026 there was already another extension (published in the BOCM of 4 August). The October one is the second that the order cites.

To receive it you need to carry out the activity in the Community of Madrid and have a reduced or bonus Social Security contribution, such as the flat rate. Since 2024, people who chose a mutual fund alternative to the RETA can also apply. One more line is for autónomos over 52 and mutual-fund members who stopped receiving unemployment benefit when they started their activity. The order records that widening of beneficiaries; amounts and deadlines in detail are in the card and on the Community's portal.

What changes

Only the budget: +€2,000,000 for 2026, paid by the Community with State funds. The order does not touch the requirements, the amounts per person or the deadlines.

What happens next

There is no closing date: the aid continues while there is credit. In 2026 the Community has extended the budget twice, in July and now in October. The deadline for each application does not change: 3 months after each 12-month period.

What you can do

  • If you are an autónomo in Madrid on the flat rate or another reduced contribution, request the Tarifa Cero on the Community of Madrid portal after paying the contributions, generally within 3 months after each 12-month period. First check you are up to date with the tax agency and Social Security.
  • If you do not have the reduced contribution yet, see the flat rate: the Tarifa Cero subsidises those contributions.
  • If you come from unemployment and took your benefit as a lump sum, the lump-sum payment of unemployment benefit card covers another Community aid that cannot be combined with the Tarifa Cero: you have to choose.
  • If you are a non-EU foreigner, your permit must allow you to work for yourself; confirm the Tarifa Cero requirements for your case with the Community of Madrid.
