The Colombian Consulate in Bilbao has been taking appointment bookings on a new online platform since 25 September 2026. The agenda opens on Fridays at 09:00 and covers the working days of the following week. It is for people who live in the Basque Country, Navarre, Cantabria, La Rioja or Asturias.

What changes for you today

If you use the Bilbao consulate, the appointment for a passport, ID card (cédula), signature recognition or civil-status declaration is now booked on the new platform. The steps, one by one, are in the guide Colombian Consulate in Bilbao: how to book an appointment. If your procedure is one of those handled without an appointment, there is nothing to book.

What happened

On 18 September 2026 the consulate announced on its website a new appointment system, in place since 25 September. It is an online platform for people who live in the Basque Country, Navarre, Cantabria, La Rioja and Asturias, used from a mobile phone or a computer with a camera.

How it works now

The notice does not say how appointments were booked before, and we have no earlier guide for this consulate, so we do not compare the old system with the new one. It does say who is served without an appointment: people over 60, people with a certified disability, pregnant women, proof-of-life certificates (supervivencias) for collecting a pension, and collection of ready ID cards and passports.

What changes

  • The appointment is booked on the consulate's online platform (the link is in the guide).
  • The agenda opens every Friday at 09:00 for the working days of the following week.
  • You need a mobile phone or a computer with a camera.
  • This system is used to book passports, citizenship ID cards (cédulas de ciudadanía), signature recognitions and civil-status declarations.

What happens next

The system is already running. The notice announces no further changes and no new dates: every Friday the agenda for the following week opens.

What you can do

  • If you need an appointment: book on a Friday from 09:00; the steps are in the guide.
  • If you are over 60, have a certified disability or are pregnant: the notice lists you among those served without an appointment.
  • Email, phone, address and opening hours: on the consulate's official notice.
