In short: the 'la Caixa' social projects call for the Valencian Community (officially, Convocatoria de Proyectos Sociales Comunitat Valenciana) gives up to €50,000 per project, at most 75% of the cost, for 12 months. Only organisations can apply: non-profit or social-economy entities based in the Valencian Community and at least 1 year old since they were set up at the closing date. An individual cannot apply. The 2026 call (24 February to 26 March) is closed. Its decision is expected in October 2026, and we expect the next call in February or March 2027.

In person or by representative? Online only. The organisation is accredited and sends the application through the calls app (Aplicación de Convocatorias) of the Fundación «la Caixa». A managing person (persona gestora) acts for it and handles the application on its behalf: they register with a valid DNI or NIE and an accreditation document signed by the legal representative. No application is accepted outside the calls app or after the deadline.

Who can apply (2026 call rules, PDF)

  • Non-profit organisations.
  • Social-economy entities, profit-making or not, if their statutes expressly state that their main aim is social cohesion or a social or cultural interest.
  • Registered in the relevant administrative register, with their registered office in the Valencian Community.
  • At least 1 year of activity since they were set up, counted at the call's closing date.
  • Public administrations and individuals are excluded.

What if you are a foreigner or have temporary protection? The grant goes to the organisation, not to you. The rules do not ask for any nationality of the people who form the organisation (our conclusion, because they do not mention it). The managing person can register with an NIE, so a foreigner can handle the application if the organisation accredits them. With temporary protection it is the same: what counts are the organisation's requirements.

What it funds (2026 call)

  • Projects in the Valencian Community for people in social vulnerability that improve their quality of life and equal opportunities.
  • Areas: older people; disability, mental disorders or illness; poverty and social inclusion.
  • Cross-cutting lines: social and labour insertion, educational opportunities, temporary housing resources, intercultural coexistence and social cohesion, health and mental health, prevention of violence and addictions, and culture for social change.
  • For an association of migrants, the closest lines are intercultural coexistence and social cohesion and social and labour insertion (our reading; check in the rules how areas and cross-cutting lines combine).

How much it gives

  • Up to €50,000 per project and no more than 75% of its cost. The rest, at least 25%, has to come from other sources.
  • To receive the full €50,000, the project must cost at least €66,667.
  • The project lasts 12 months.

What to do now, with the call closed

  • The 2026 call closed on 26 March 2026 at 17:00. The Foundation expects to decide on it in October 2026.
  • No 2027 call has been announced yet. Based on the 2026 calendar we expect it in February or March 2027; this is our forecast, not an official date.
  • In 2026 the year of activity was counted up to the call's closing date. If the 2027 rules keep it and the call closes in February or March, as we expect, an organisation set up in October 2026 would not yet be 1 year old.
  • Registration of the managing person is always open and validation takes up to 3 working days. An organisation that already meets the requirements can do it before the call opens.
  • If you are looking for help for yourself as a person, this call is not the way: see organisations that serve migrants.

Documents to accredit the organisation

  • Managing person: valid DNI or NIE, both sides, and an accreditation document signed by the organisation's legal representative.
  • Organisation: tax identification card (tarjeta de identificación fiscal), registration in the relevant register, and the deed or act of incorporation with the statutes, registered.
  • This is the official page's list for accreditation; the application may ask for more documents. Check each year's rules.

Steps

  1. Check that the organisation qualifies: non-profit or social-economy, registered, based in the Valencian Community and 1 year old since it was set up at the closing date.
  2. Register the managing person in the calls app with a DNI or NIE and the document signed by the legal representative.
  3. Accredit the organisation with the tax identification card, the registration in the register and the deed or act of incorporation with the statutes; the official page does not say whether this can be done before the call opens.
  4. When the call opens, send the application through the online form before the deadline.

Frequently asked questions

Can I apply to the la Caixa social projects call as an individual?

No. Only non-profit or social-economy organisations can apply: registered in their register, based in the Valencian Community and at least 1 year old since they were set up at the closing date. An individual can only take part through an organisation that meets these requirements.

How much does the 'la Caixa' Foundation give per project?

Up to €50,000 for a 12-month project, and at most 75% of its cost. To receive the full €50,000, the project must cost at least €66,667; the other 25% comes from other sources.

When does the next 'la Caixa' social projects call for the Valencian Community open?

It has not been announced. The 2026 call ran from 24 February to 26 March 2026 and its decision is expected in October 2026. Based on that calendar we expect the next one in February or March 2027, but this is not an official date.

Can a foreigner with an NIE manage the application?

Yes. The managing person registers in the calls app (Aplicación de Convocatorias) with a valid DNI or NIE, both sides, and an accreditation document signed by the organisation's legal representative. Validation takes up to 3 working days.

Can an association set up now apply to the 2027 call?

Only if it is 1 year old since it was set up on the closing date (2026 rule; check the 2027 rules). If the 2027 call closes in February or March, as we expect, an organisation set up in October 2026 would not yet be 1 year old.
