Guía Extranjeros connector (MCP)
A free, read-only Model Context Protocol server. It lets Claude and other AI assistants look up our guides for foreigners in Spain, with the date each guide was last checked against the official source.
Connect
- Server URL:
https://guiaextranjeros.es/mcp - Transport: Streamable HTTP, stateless, JSON responses.
- Authentication: none. No account, no API key, no payment.
Claude (claude.ai or the desktop app): Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector → paste the URL above. Then ask, for example, “How do I get a TIE card in Spain for the first time?” or “What is arraigo sociolaboral?”.
Other clients that support remote MCP servers (ChatGPT developer mode, MCP Inspector, IDE agents): add the same URL as a Streamable HTTP server without authentication.
Tools
search_guides— search by keywords in Spanish, English or Ukrainian (query, optionallang= es / en / uk, optionallimitup to 10). Returns guides with a one-sentence summary, status, the date last checked and a link.get_guide— one guide byslug: summary, first paragraph, how the procedure is filed (online, by a representative or in person), validity dates, the official source domain, up to five key questions and answers, and a link to the full guide.about_guia— what the service covers, number of current guides by topic, what is not included, and where to get personal help.
All tools only read data. Each answer includes verified_at (date checked against the official source), stale (true if that was more than 120 days ago), status, a link to the page and a disclaimer.
What it does not do
- It does not give legal advice or decide whether a person qualifies. The content is general information.
- Closed procedures, or procedures whose status we cannot confirm, return only their status, not their content.
- Full step-by-step instructions, document lists and fees stay on the website page that each answer links to.
- No form filling, payments, appointment booking or uploads.
Data and freshness
The server answers from a snapshot of the same guides that are published on guiaextranjeros.es. The snapshot is rebuilt every time the website is updated, at least once a day. Sources are official: the BOE, the Official Journal of the EU, ministries, the Tax Agency (AEAT), the DGT, Social Security, the national grants database (BDNS) and consulates. Limits: one JSON-RPC message per request, request body up to 64 KB.
Privacy
- What the server receives: the tool name and its arguments (your search words, a guide slug, a language code) plus the standard technical data of any web request (IP address, user agent), which our hosting provider Cloudflare processes to deliver and protect the service.
- What we store: nothing. The server keeps no logs of requests or arguments, uses no cookies and does not receive your conversation with the assistant, your name or your account.
- Statistics: Cloudflare keeps aggregated traffic statistics (number of requests by country and user agent) that we may look at. They do not include the content of requests.
- Retention: we keep no request data. Cloudflare's own retention is described in its privacy policy.
- Third parties: we do not sell or share data. The server does not call any third-party API when it answers.
