Grants for new autónomos in Benidorm: the Benidorm city council pays €700 or €1,000 to people who started as autónomos in the city. It is for registrations between 1 October 2025 and 30 September 2026, with a tax address in Benidorm. You also need empadronamiento (registration on the town's population register) in Benidorm or an opening licence for premises there that is being processed. Applications are online until 31 December 2026. A registration made now no longer qualifies for this call.
What changes for you today
If your autónomo registration dates from between 1 October 2025 and 30 September 2026 and your tax address is in Benidorm, you can apply until 31 December. You also need empadronamiento in Benidorm or an opening licence for premises there that is being processed. If you registered later or your tax address is in another town, nothing changes for you. How to register, step by step, is in the card How to become an autónomo in Spain as a foreigner.
What happened
The summary of the call was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante (Boletín Oficial de la Provincia, BOP) no. 138 of 24 July 2026. From the next day, 25 July, the window runs until 31 December. The fund is €78,000 and can grow if there is budget. You can find the call in the National Grants Database (BDNS) under number 920771.
How it works now
The council has run this grant every year since 2022; in 2025 the window also ended on 31 December. Registration rules stay the same. The flat rate is still €88.64 a month in 2026.
What changes
- Three amounts: €700 with a tax address and empadronamiento in Benidorm. If you also apply for an opening licence for premises in Benidorm, €1,000. Without empadronamiento but with a tax address and an opening licence in Benidorm, €700.
- Date that counts: your tax registration date (form 036 or 037), between 1 October 2025 and 30 September 2026.
- Who cannot apply: anyone registered in the RETA (the Social Security scheme for the self-employed) in the 6 months before starting and anyone who received this grant in the previous 2 years. Also, on the payment date you must be up to date with the tax agency and Social Security, with no debts to the council.
- Paid afterwards: keep the activity and the RETA registration for at least 3 months; once that period is over, the grant is paid.
- No points: what counts is the date when the documents are complete in the register, until the fund runs out. Since the receipts for the first 3 contributions are required, the full set of documents can only be submitted once they are paid.
- Foreigners: the rules set no nationality requirement and the official application form accepts the NIE. To register you need a permit to work for yourself; temporary protection gives it, as the registration card explains.
What happens next
- The window closes on 31 December 2026, and grants are awarded until the fund runs out.
- A technical committee reviews the applications and proposes approving or refusing them. The local government board (Junta de Gobierno Local) decides.
- The decision is published on the notice board of the Benidorm city council's electronic office.
What you can do
- Check the registration date on your form 036 or 037.
- For the amounts with empadronamiento, check your registration on the population register in Benidorm.
- Prepare your identity document, the third-party form (ficha de mantenimiento de terceros) or a bank account ownership certificate with a digital signature, a project description with your CV and your work history report (informe de vida laboral).
- Add form 036 or 037 (or the CIRCE single electronic document), the RETA registration decision, the census status certificate (certificado de situación censal) and the receipts for the first 3 contributions to Social Security.
- With an opening licence, also attach a copy of the licence application and the payment letter from the council's Openings Department.
- Apply at the electronic office of the Benidorm city council, with electronic identification, for example a digital certificate.
